History

The History
of our Company

1913 Founding of company Vorarlberger Buchdruckerei in Dornbirn, Austria (known as VBG Holding AG today).

1955 Conversion from lithography to offset printing and specialisation on fine cardboard packaging and labels.

1968 Relocation from Dornbirn to Schwarzach: Construction of new plant for Offsetdruckerei Schwarzach.

1978 – 1988 Gradual expansion of business and construction of first high-bay warehouse.

1992 Become member of Fachverband der Papier und Pappe verarbeitenden Industrie Österreichs (Austrian Association of Paper and Cardboard Processing Industry).

1994 Introduction of Quality Management ISO 9001

1996 Installation of digital pre-press technology.

1999 New construction and expansion of pre-press, printing hall, stockrooms and administration facilities.

2003 Purchase of neighbouring property for operational use.

2005 Plant expansion to 35,500 m². Offsetdruckerei Schwarzach receives HACCP certification.

2006 Certification according to strictest European hygiene standard BRC Packaging and DPG deposit system.

2007 Investment of approx 7 million euros in new production equipment.

2008 Ground-breaking ceremony for major expansion to 52,000 m² of production area, construction of high-bay warehouse with pallet storage space for approx. 10,000 pallets.

2009 Certification for FSC®/PEFC and ClimatePartner.

2010 Commissioning of the new production areas and the high-bay warehouse

2011 ÖKOPROFIT certification: www.oekoprofit.com

2012 Climate-neutral company according to ClimatePartner.

2013 Commissioning of photovoltaic system with an annual power production of approximately 400,000 kWh.

2014 ISO 50001 certification – worldwide standard for the establishment of systematic energy management.
